New Testament Letters (GOD'S WORD )
Titus 1:6-9 (GOD'S WORD )
6 A spiritual leader
must have a good reputation. He must have only one wife and have
children who are believers. His children shouldn't be known for having
wild lifestyles or being rebellious. 7
Because a bishop is a supervisor appointed by God, he must have a good
reputation. He must not be a stubborn or irritable person. He must not
drink too much or be a violent person. He must not use shameful ways to
make money. 8 Instead, he
must be hospitable, love what is good, use good judgment, be fair and
moral, and have self-control. 9
He must be devoted to the trustworthy message we teach. Then he can use
these accurate teachings to encourage people and correct those who
oppose the word.
Titus 1:15-16 (GOD'S WORD )
15Everything is clean to those who
are clean. But nothing is clean to corrupt unbelievers. Indeed, their
minds and their consciences are corrupted.
16They claim to know
God, but they deny him by what they do. They are detestable,
disobedient, and unfit to do anything good.
Titus 2:1-14 (GOD'S WORD )
1Tell
believers to live the kind of life that goes along with accurate
teachings. 2Tell older men
to be sober. Tell them to be men of good character, to use good
judgment, and to be wellgrounded in faith, love, and endurance.
3Tell
older woman to live their lives in a way that shows they are dedicated
to God. Tell them not to be gossips or addicted to alcohol, but to
be examples of virtue. 4In
this way they will teach young women to show love to their husbands and
children, 5to use good
judgment, and to be morally pure. Also, tell them to teach young women
to be homemakers, to be kind, and to place themselves under their
husband's authority. Then no one can speak evil of God's word.
6Encourage
young men to use good judgment. 7Always
set an example by doing good things. 8Speak
an accurate message that cannot be condemned. Then those who
oppose us will be ashamed because they can't say anything bad about us.
9Tell
slaves who are believers to place themselves under their masters'
authority in everything they do. Tell them to please their masters, not
to argue with them 10or
steal from them. Instead, tell slaves to show their masters how good
and completely loyal they can be. Then they will show the beauty of the
teaching about God our Savior in everything they do.
11After
all, God's saving kindness has appeared for the benefit of all people. 12It
trains us to avoid ungodly lives filled with worldly desires so that we
can live self-controlled, moral, and godly lives in this present world.
13At the same time we can expect what
we hope
for -- the appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus
Christ. 14He gave himself for us to
set us
free from every sin and to cleanse us so that we can be his special
people who are enthusiastic about doing good things.
Titus 3:1-8 (GOD'S WORD )
1 Remind believers to
place themselves under the authority of government officials.Believers
should obey them and help them with every good thing they do.2Believers shouldn't curse anyone or
be quarrelssome, but but they should be gentle and show courtesy to
everyone.3 Indeed, we, too,
were once stupid, disobedient, and mislead. We were slaves to many
kinds of lusts and pleasures. We were mean and jealous. We were hated,
and we hated each other. 4
However, when God our Savior made his kindness and love for
humanity appear, 5 he saved
us, but not because of anything that we had done to gain his approval.
Instead, because of his mercy he saved us through the washing in which
the Holy Spirit gives new birth and renewal. 6
God poured a generous amount of the spirit on us through Jesus Christ
our Savior.7 As a result, God
in his kindness has given us his approval and we have become heirs who
have the confidence that we have everlasting life. 8 This is a statement that can be trusted. I
want you to insist on these things so that those who believe in God can
concentrate on setting an example by doing good things. This is good
and helps other people.
James 1:19-27 (GOD'S WORD )
19Remember
this, my dear brothers and sisters: Everyone should be quick to listen,
slow to speak, and should not get angry easily. 20An angry person doesn’t do what God
approves of. 21So get rid of
all immoral behavior and all the wicked things you do. Humbly accept
the word that God has placed in you. This word can save you.
22Do what
God’s word says. Don’t merely listen to it, or you will fool yourselves. 23If someone listens to God’s word but
doesn’t do what it says, he is like a person who looks at his face in a
mirror, 24studies his
features, goes away, and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25However, the person who continues to
study God’s perfect teachings that make people free and who remains
committed to them will be blessed. People like that don’t merely listen
and forget; they actually do what God’s teachings say.
26If a
person thinks that he is religious but can’t control his tongue, he is
fooling himself. That person’s religion is worthless. 27Pure, unstained religion, according to
God our Father, is to take care of orphans and widows when they suffer
and to remain uncorrupted by this world.
James 2:14-19 (GOD'S WORD )
14My
brothers
and sisters, what good does it do if someone claims to have faith but
doesn't
do any good things? Can this kind of faith save him? 15Suppose
a believer, whether a man or a woman, needs clothes or food 16and
one of you tells that person, "God be with you! Stay warm, and make
sure
you eat enough." If you don't provide for that person's physical needs,
what good does it do? 17In
the same
way, faith by itself is dead if it doesn't cause you to do any good
things.
18Another
person might say, "You have faith, but I do good things." Show me your
faith apart from the good things you do. I will show you my faith by
the
good things I do. 19You
believe
that there is one God. That's fine! The demons also believe that, and
they
tremble with fear.
James 4:1-17 (GOD'S WORD )
1What causes fights
and
quarrels among you? Aren't they caused by the selfish desires that
fight
to control you?
2You want what
you don't have, so you commit murder. You're determined to have things,
but you can't get what you want. You quarrel and fight. You don't have
the things you want, because you don't pray for them. 3When
you pray for things, you don't get them because you want them for the
wrong
reason-for your own pleasure.
4You unfaithful
people! Don't you know that love for this {evil} world is hatred toward
God? Whoever wants to be a friend of this world is an enemy of God. 5Do
you think this passage means nothing? It says, "The Spirit that lives
in
us wants us to be his own."
6But
God
shows us even more kindness. Scripture says,
"God opposes arrogant
people,
but he is kind to humble people."
7So
place
yourselves under God's authority. Resist the devil, and he will run
away
from you. 8Come close to God,
and
he will come close to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners, and clear
your minds, you doubters. 9Be
miserable,
mourn, and cry. Turn your laughter into mourning and your joy into
gloom.
10Humble
yourselves in the Lord's presence. Then he will give you a high
position.11Brothers and
sisters, stop slandering each other. Those who slander and judge other
believers slander and judge God’s teachings. If you judge God’s
teachings, you are no longer following them. Instead, you are judging
them.
12There is
only one teacher and judge. He is able to save or destroy you. So who
are you to judge your neighbor?
13Pay
attention to this! You’re saying, “Today or tomorrow we will go into
some city, stay there a year, conduct business, and make money.” 14You don’t know what will happen tomorrow.
What is life? You are a mist that is seen for a moment and then
disappears. 15Instead, you
should say, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and carry out our
plans.” 16However, you brag
because
you’re arrogant. All such bragging is evil.
17Whoever
knows what is right but doesn’t do it is sinning.
James 4:13-17 (GOD'S WORD )
13 Pay attention to
this! You’re saying, “Today or tomorrow we will go into some city, stay
there a year, conduct business, and make money.” 14You don’t know what will happen tomorrow.

17Whoever

James 5:1-11 (GOD'S WORD )
1Pay
attention to this if you’re rich. Cry and moan about the misery that is
coming to you. 2Your riches
have decayed, and your clothes have been eaten by moths. 3Your gold and silver are corroded, and
their corrosion will be used as evidence against you. Like fire, it
will destroy your body. You have stored up riches in these last days. 4The wages you refused to pay the people who
harvested your fields shout to God against you. The Lord of Armies has
heard the cries of those who gather the crops. 5You have lived
in luxury and pleasure here on earth. You have fattened yourselves for
the day of
slaughterrothers and
sisters,
be patient until the Lord comes again. See how farmers wait for their
precious
crops to grow. They wait patiently for fall and spring rains.6You have condemned and murdered people who
have God’s approval, even though they didn’t resist you.
7Brothers
and sisters, be patient until the Lord comes again. See how farmers
wait for their precious crops to grow. They wait patiently for fall and
spring rains.
8You,
too, must be patient. Don't give up hope. The Lord will soon be here. 9Brothers
and sisters, stop complaining about each other, or you will be
condemned.
Realize that the judge is standing at the door.
10Brothers
and sisters, follow the example of the prophets who spoke in the name
of
the Lord. They were patient when they suffered unjustly. 11We
consider those who endure to be blessed. You have heard about Job's
endurance.
You saw that the Lord ended Job's suffering because the Lord is
compassionate
and merciful.
James 5:13-18 (GOD'S WORD )
13 If any of you are
having trouble, pray. If you are happy, sing psalms. 14If you are sick, call for the church
leaders. Have them pray for you and anoint you with olive oil in the
name of the Lord. 15(Prayers
offered in faith will save those who are sick, and the Lord will cure
them.) If you have sinned, you will be forgiven. 16So admit your sins to each other, and pray
for each other so that you will be healed.
Prayers offered by those who have God’s approval are
effective. 17Elijah was human
like us. Yet, when he prayed that it wouldn’t rain, no rain fell on the
ground for three-and-a-half years. 18Then
he prayed again. It rained, and the ground produced crops.
I Peter 5:1-11 (GOD'S WORD )
1I
appeal to your spiritual leaders.a I make this appeal as a spiritual
leader who also witnessed Christ’s sufferings and will share in the
glory that
will be revealed. 2Be
shepherds over the flock God has entrusted to you. Watch over it as God
does: Don’t do this because you have to, but because you want to. Don’t
do it out of greed, but out of a desire to serve. 3Don’t be rulers over the people entrusted
to you, but be examples for the flock to follow.
4Then,
when the chief shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory
that will never fade away. 5Young
people, in a similar way, place yourselves under the authority of
spiritual leaders. Furthermore, all of you must serve each other with
humility, because God opposes the arrogant but favors the humble. 6Be humbled by God’s power so that when the
right time comes he will honor you.
7Turn all
your anxiety over to God because he cares for you. 8Keep your mind clear, and be alert. Your
opponent the devil is prowling around like a
roaring lion as he looks for someone to devour.
9Be firm in the faith and resist him, knowing that
other believers throughout the world are going through the same kind of
suffering. 10God, who shows
you his kindnessb and who has called you through Christ Jesus to his
eternal glory, will restore you, strengthen you, make you strong, and
support you as you suffer for a little while. 11Power
belongs to him forever. Amen.
1 John 1:1-4 (GOD'S WORD)
1The Word of life
existed
from the beginning. We have heard it. We have seen it. We observed and
touched it. 2This life was revealed
to
us. We have seen it, and we testify about it. We are reporting to you
about
this eternal life that was in the presence of the Father and was
revealed
to us. 3This is the life we have
seen and
heard. We are reporting about it to you also so that you, too, can have
a relationship with us. Our relationship is with the Father and with
his
Son Jesus Christ. 4We are writing
this
so that we can be completely filled with joy.
1 John 1:5-10 (GOD'S WORD)
THROUGH JESUS WE HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
5This is the message we heard from Christ
and are reporting to you: God is light, and there isn’t any darkness in
him. 6If we say, “We have a relationship with
God” and yet live in the dark, we’re lying. We aren’t being truthful.
7But if we live in the light in the same way
that God is in the light, we have a relationship with each other. And
the blood of his Son Jesus cleanses us from every sin. 8If we say,
“We aren’t sinful” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in
us. 9God is faithful and reliable. If we confess
our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we’ve done
wrong. 10If we say, “We have never sinned,” we turn
God into a liar and his Word is not in us.
1 John 2:1-11 (GOD'S WORD)
1 My dear
children, I’m
writing this to you so that you will not sin. Yet, if anyone does sin,
we have Jesus Christ, who has God’s full approval. He speaks on our
behalf when we come into the presence of the Father. 2He is the payment for our sins, and not
only for our sins, but also for the sins of
the whole world.
THOSE WHO KNOW CHRIST OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS
3 We are
sure that we know
Christ if we obey his commandments. 4The
person who says, “I know him,” but doesn’t obey his commandments is a
liar. The truth isn’t in that person. 5But
whoever obeys what Christ says is the kind of person in whom God’s love
is perfected. That’s how we know we are in Christ. 6Those who say that they live in him must
live the same way he lived.
7 Dear friends, it’s not as
though I’m writing to give you a new commandment. Rather, I’m giving you an old commandment
that you’ve had from the beginning.
It’s the old commandment you’ve already heard. 8On the other hand, I’m writing to give you a new
commandment. It’s a truth that exists in Christ and in you: The darkness is fading,
and the true light is already shining.
9 Those who say that they are in
the light but hate other believers are still in the dark. 10Those who love other believers live in the
light. Nothing will destroy
the faith of those who live in the light. 11Those who hate other believers are in the dark and live in the dark. They
don’t know where they’re going, because
they can’t see in the dark.
1 John 2:12-29 (GOD'S WORD)
12I’m
writing to you, dear children, because your sins are forgiven through
Christ.
13I’m
writing to you, fathers, because you know Christ who has existed from
the beginning. I’m writing to you, young people, because you have won
the victory over the evil one.
14I’ve
written to you, children, because you know the Father. I’ve written to
you, fathers, because you know Christ, who has existed from the
beginning.
I’ve written to you, young people, because you are strong and God’s word
lives in you. You have won the victory over the evil one.
15Don't love the world and
what
it offers. Those who love the world don't have the Father's love in
them.
16Not
everything that the world offers--physical gratification, greed, and
extravagant
lifestyles--comes from the Father. It comes from the world, and
17the world and its evil desires are passing away. But
the person who does what God wants lives forever.
18Children,
it’s the end of time. You’ve heard that an antichrist is coming.
Certainly, many antichrists are already here. That’s how we know it’s
the end of time. 19They left
us. However, they were never really part of us. If they had been, they
would have stayed with us. But by leaving they made it clear that none
of them were part of us.
20The Holy
One has anointed you, so all of you have knowledge. 21I’m writing to you because you know the
truth, not because you don’t know the truth.
You know that no lie ever comes from the truth.
22Who is a
liar? Who else but the person who rejects Jesus as the Messiah? The
person who rejects the Father and the Son is an antichrist. 23Everyone who rejects the Son doesn’t have
the Father either. The person who acknowledges the Son also has the
Father. 24Make sure that the
message you heard from the beginning lives in you. If that message
lives in you, you will also live
in the Son and in the Father. 25Christ
has given us the promise of eternal life.
26I’m
writing to you about those who are trying to deceive you. 27The anointing you received from Christ
lives in you. You don’t need anyone to teach you something else.
Instead, Christ’s anointing teaches you about everything. His anointing
is true and contains no lie. So live in Christ as he taught you to do.
28Now, dear
children, live in Christ. Then, when he appears we will have
confidence, and when he comes we won’t turn from him in shame. 29If you know that Christ has God’s
approval, you also know that everyone who does what God approves of has
been born from God.
1 John 3:1-24 (GOD'S WORD )
1Consider this: The
Father
has given us his love. He loves us so much that we are actually called
God's dear children. And that's what we are. For this reason the world
doesn't recognize us, and it didn't recognize him either. 2Dear
friends, now we are God's children. What we will be isn't completely
clear
yet. We do know that when Christ appears we will be like him because we
will see him as he is. 3So
all people
who have this confidence in Christ keep themselves pure, as Christ is
pure.
4Those who live sinful lives are disobeying
God. Sin is disobedience. 5You know
that Christ appeared in order to take away our sins. He isn’t sinful.6Those who
live in Christ don’t go on sinning. Those who go on sinning haven’t
seen or known Christ.
7Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive
you. Whoever does what God approves of has God’s approval as Christ has
God’s approval. 8The person who lives a sinful life belongs
to the devil, because the devil has been committing sin since the
beginning. The reason that the Son of God appeared was to destroy what
the devil does. 9Those who have been born from God don’t
live sinful lives. What God has said lives in them, and they can’t live
sinful lives They have been born from God. 10This is the
way God’s children are distinguished from the devil’s children.
Everyone who doesn’t do what is right or love other believers isn’t
God’s child. 11The message that you have heard from the
biginning was to love each other. 12 Don't be like Cain. He was a child of the
evil one and murdered his brother. and why did Cain murder his brother?
Because the things Cain did where evil and the things his brother did
had God's approval. 13Brothers and sisters, don't be surprised if
the world hates you. 14We know that we have passed from death to
like, because we love other believers. The person who doesn't grow in
love remains in death. 15Everyone who hates another believer is a
murderer, and you know that a murderer doesn't have eternal life. 16We
understand that love is when we realize that Christ gave his life for
us. That means we must give our lives for other believers. 17Now,
suppose a person has enough to live on and notices another believer in
need. How can God's love be in that person if he doesn't bother to help
the other believer? 18Dear children, we must show love through
actions that all sincere, not threw empty words. 19This is how
we will know that we belong to the truth and how we will be reassured
in his presence. 20Whenever our conscience condemnes us, we
will be reassured that God is greater than our conscience and knows
everything. 21Dear friends, if our conscience doesn't
condem us, we can boldly look to God 22and recieve from him everything we ask. We
recieve it because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him. 23This is his
commandment:to believe in his son, the one name Jesus Christ, and to
love each other as he commanded us.24Those who obey Christ's commandments live
in God, and we know them. We know that he lives in us because he has
given us the spirit.
1 John 4:1-6 (GOD'S WORD)
1Dear
friends,
don't believe all people who say that they have the Spirit. Instead,
test
them. See whether the spirit they have is from God, because there are
many
false prohpets in the world. 2This
is how you can recognize God's Spirit: Every person who declares that
Jesus
Christ has come as a human has the Spirit that is from God. 3But
every person who doesn't declare that Jesus Christ has come as a human
has a spirit that isn't from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist
that you have heard is coming. That spirit is already in the world.
4Dear
children, you belong to God. So you have won the victory over these
people, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in
the world. 5These people
belong to the world. That’s why they speak the thoughts of the world,
and the world listens to them. 6We
belong to God. The person who knows God listens to us. Whoever doesn’t
belong to God doesn’t listen to us. That’s how we can tell the Spirit
of truth from the spirit of lies.
1 John 5:1-12 (GOD'S WORD)
1Everyone
who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born from God. Everyone who loves the Father also
loves his children. 2We know that we love God’s children when we love
God by obeying his commandments. 3To love God means that we obey his
commandments. Obeying his commandments
isn’t difficult 4because everyone who has been born from God has won the victory over the world. Our
faith is what wins the victory
over the world. 5Who wins the victory over the world? Isn’t
it the person who believes
that Jesus is the Son of God?
6This Son of
God is Jesus Christ, who came by water and blood. He didn't come with
water only, but with water and with blood. The Spirit is the one who
verifies this, because the Spirit is the truth. 7There are three witnesses: 8the Spirit, the water, and the blood. These
three witnesses agree.
9We accept
human testimony. God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony
that he has given about his Son. 10Those
who believe in the Son of God have the testimony of God in them. Those
who don't believe God have made God a liar. They haven't believed the
testimony that God has given about his Son.
11This is
the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is found in
his Son. 12The person who has
the Son has this life. The person who doesn't have the Son of God
doesn't have this life.
1 John 5:18-21 (GOD'S WORD)
18We know that
those
who have been born from God don't go on sinning. Rather, the Son of God
protects them, and the evil one can't harm them.
19We
know
that we are from God, and that the whole world is under the control of
the evil one.
20We
know
that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we
know the real God. We are in the one who is real, his Son Jesus Christ.
This Jesus Christ is the real God and eternal life.
21Dear
children, guard yourselves from false gods.
2 John 1-11 (GOD'S WORD)
1From the church leader. To the chosen lady
and her children, whom I love because we share the truth. I’m not the
only one who loves you. Everyone who knows the truth also loves you. 2We love you because of the truth which
lives in us and will be with us forever.
3Good will,
mercy, and peace will be with us. They come from God the Father and
from Jesus Christ, who in truth and love is the Father’s Son.
4I was
very happy to find some of your children living in the truth as the
Father has commanded us. 5Dear
lady, I’m now requesting that we continue to love each other. It’s not
as though I’m writing to give you a new commandment. Rather, from the
beginning we were commanded to love each other.
6Love
means that we live by doing
what
he commands. We were commanded to live in love, and you have heard this
from the beginning.
7Many
people who deceive others have gone into the world. They refuse to
declare
that Jesus Christ came in flesh and blood. This is the mark of a
deceiver
and an antichrist. 8Be
careful that
you don't destroy what we've worked for, but that you receive your full
reward.
9Everyone
who doesn't continue to teach what Christ taught doesn't have God. The
person who continues to teach what Christ taught has both the Father
and
the Son. 10If anyone
comes
to you and doesn't bring these teachings, don't take him into your home
or even greet him.11Whoever
greets him shares the evil things he’s doing.
Jude 1:14-25 (GOD'S WORD)
14Furthermore,
Enoch, from the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about them.
He said, “The Lord has come with countless thousands of his holy
angels. 15He has come to
judge all these people. He has come to convict all these ungodly
sinners for all the ungodly things they have done and all the harsh
things they have said about him.”
16These
people complain, find fault, follow their own desires, say arrogant
things, and flatter people in order to take advantage of them.
17Dear
friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ told you
to expect: 18“In the last
times people who ridicule bGodn will appear. They will follow their own
ungodly desires.”
19These
are the people who cause divisions. They are concerned about physical
things, not spiritual things.
20Dear
friends, use your most holy faith to grow. Pray with the Holy Spirit’s
help. 21Remain in God’s love
as you look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you eternal
life.
22Show
mercy to those who have doubts. 23Save
others by snatching them from the fire of hell. Show mercy to others,
even though you are afraid that you might be stained by their sinful
lives.
24God
can guard you so that you don’t fall and so that you can be full of joy
as you stand in his glorious presence without fault. 25Before time began, now, and for eternity
glory, majesty, power, and authority belong to the
only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Jude 3-4 (GOD'S WORD)
3Dear friends, I had
intended
to write to you about the salvation we share. but something has come
up.
It demands that I write to you and encourage you to continue your fight
for the Christian faith that was entrusted to God's holy people once
for
all time.
4Some
people have slipped in among you unnoticed. Not long ago they were
condemned
in writing for the following reason: They are people to whom God means
nothing. They use God's kindness as an excuse for sexual freedom and
deny
our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Jude 5-16 (GOD'S WORD)
5 I want to remind
you about what you already know: The Lord once saved his people from
Egypt. But on another occasion he destroyed those who didn’t believe. 6He held angels for judgment on the great
day. They were held in darkness, bound by eternal chains. These are the
angels who didn’t keep their position of authority but abandoned their
assigned place. 7What
happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near them is an example
for us of the punishment of eternal fire. The people of these cities
suffered the same fate that God’s people and the angels did, because
they committed sexual sins and engaged in homosexual activities.
8 Yet, in
a similar way, the people who slipped in among you are dreamers. They
contaminate their bodies with sin, reject the Lord’s authority, and
insult his glory. 9When the
archangel Michael argued with the devil, they were arguing over the
body of Moses. But Michael didn’t dare to hand down a judgment against
the devil. Instead, Michael said, “May the Lord reprimand you!”
10Whatever
these people don’t understand, they insult. Like animals, which are
creatures of instinct, they use whatever they know to destroy
themselves. 11How horrible it
will be for them! They have followed the path of Cain. They have rushed
into Balaam’s error to make a profit. They have rebelled like Korah and
destroyed themselves.
12These
people are a disgrace at the special meals you share with other
believers. They eat with you and don’t feel ashamed. They are shepherds
who care {only} for themselves. They are dry clouds blown around by the
winds. They are withered, uprooted trees without any fruit. As a
result, they have died twice. 13Their
shame is like the foam on the wild waves of the sea. They are wandering
stars for whom gloomy darkness is kept forever.

Jude 17-25 (GOD'S WORD)
17The
five men who had gone to spy throughout the land went inside. They took
the carved idol, the ephod, the household idols, and the metal idol.
The priest stood at the entrance to the city with the 600 armed men. 18When these men entered Micah’s house and
took the carved idol, the ephod, the household idols, and the metal
idol, the priest asked them, “What are you doing?”
19They
told him, “Keep quiet! Don’t say a word! Come with us and be our father
and priest. Is it better for you to be a priest for one man’s house or
for a tribe in Israel and its families?”
20The
priest was content. He took the ephod, the household idols, and the
carved idol and went with the people. 21When
they left, they put their children, livestock, and property in front of
them.
22When
they had already gone some distance from Micah’s house, Micah’s
neighbors were called together to help him catch up to the people of
Dan.
23Save
others by
snatching
them from the fire [of hell]. Show mercy to others, even though you are
afraid that you might be stained by their sinful lives.
24God can
guard you so that you don’t fall and so that you can be full of joy as
you stand in his glorious presence without fault. 25Before time began, now, and for eternity
glory, majesty, power, and authority belong to the only God, our
Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
